BofA Securities analyst Ken Hoexter lowered the price target on XPO (NYSE: XPO) to $228.00 (from $248.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.

The analyst comments "XPO posted its mid-3Q26 LTL update, with August tons/day in line with our target. August Tons/day outperformed seasonality following July’s 400 bps outperformance, which we believe positions it to deliver another quarter of above-seasonal sequential margin performance (we are 80.4% vs its sub 81% target). August Tons/day improved 3.7% year-year, just ahead of our +3.5% target and moderating from +5.8% in July. August Shipments/day were up 5.7% year-year, above our 5.0% target, in line with +5.9%

XPO (NYSE: XPO) reported preliminary less-than-truckload segment operating metrics for August 2026, showing a 3.7% increase in tonnage per day compared with August 2025.

According to the Greenwich, Conn.-based freight transportation company, the tonnage increase was driven by a 5.7% year-over-year rise in shipments per day, partially offset by a 1.8% decrease in weight per shipment.

XPO noted that actual results for August 2026 may vary from the preliminary figures reported.
