Worksport receives patent for cold-climate heat pump technology

Worksport Ltd. (NASDAQ: WKSP) announced that its subsidiary Terravis Energy received U.S. Patent No. 12,624,872 for its AetherLux heat pump system incorporating ZeroFrost technology. The patent, titled "Heat Pump System and Components Thereof," covers system architecture designed to reduce or eliminate conventional defrost cycles in cold-climate heat pumps.

The ZeroFrost technology addresses frost buildup on outdoor coils, which typically forces conventional heat pumps to interrupt heating or rely on backup systems. The patented system uses an antifreeze coil positioned near the refrigerant coil at the outdoor heat exchanger to reduce the refrigerant coil temperature, preventing frost formation.
