World Kinect founder to step down as executive chairman in 2026

World Kinect Corporation (NYSE: WKC), which operates as World Fuel, announced that co-founder Michael J. Kasbar will step down as Executive Chairman effective December 31, 2026. The company also appointed independent director Ken Bakshi as Chairman of the Board, effective the same date.

Kasbar co-founded Trans Tec Services in 1984, a marine fuel brokerage whose acquisition formed the basis of what became World Fuel. He has served the company for more than four decades, including roles as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman.

Bakshi has served on World Fuel's Board of Directors since 2002 and brings more than three decades of experience
