STRATA study shows excimer laser with JAK inhibitors effective for vitiligo

STRATA Skin Sciences Inc. reported results from a multicenter study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology showing its 308-nm excimer laser combined with oral JAK inhibitors achieved an 85.5% response rate in pediatric vitiligo patients compared to 53.8% for a control group using topical tacrolimus with the same laser therapy.

The randomized controlled trial enrolled 188 children aged 2-18 years across five academic dermatology centers in China over a 48-week treatment period. Patients received either oral JAK inhibitors (baricitinib or tofacitinib) with excimer laser therapy twice weekly or topical tacrolimus with the same laser protocol.
