IQM quantum computer launches at italian supercomputing center

IQM Quantum Computers launched its 54-qubit Radiance quantum computer at the CINECA supercomputing center in Bologna, Italy. The system, named NOX, is being integrated with Leonardo, one of the world's fastest supercomputers, to support hybrid classical-quantum computing workflows.

The installation represents the second IQM quantum computer operational in Italy and the first on-premises superconducting quantum computer at CINECA. The Italian Research Centre on High Performance Computing, Big Data, and Quantum Computing inaugurated the system to enable applications in optimization, simulation, and machine learning.
