Pearson explores credentialing platform to verify AI agents, CTO says

Investing.com -- Pearson is exploring building a platform to verify and credential AI agents themselves, certifying that the systems are fit to do real work inside businesses, Chief Technology Officer Dave Treat told Investing.com.

Treat said the education group wants to extend its assessment heritage, long built around testing people, to a fast-emerging question of whether an AI agent is "ready, safe and fit for purpose" before it is let loose on a company's work.

Pearson acquires ITS as it bets on verified skills in the AI era

Investing.com -- Pearson revealed on Friday that it has acquired ITS, a Baltimore-based assessment technology company, in a move to strengthen its assessment and verification capabilities.

The FTSE 100 education group said the deal expands its offerings in professional assessment and related markets, adding ITS’s enterprise services, including remote testing and proctoring, performance-based assessment, and continuous certification.

ITS will become part of Pearson Professional Assessments, building on a commercial relationship between the two companies dating back to 2009.

Pearson did not disclose the financial terms. However, the deal is seen as a bolt-on acquisition for its Assessment &
