ORIC Pharmaceuticals starts Phase 3 trial for prostate cancer drug

ORIC Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ORIC) announced the initiation of its Himalayas-1 global Phase 3 registrational trial evaluating rinzimetostat in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who were previously treated with abiraterone, according to a company statement dated July 14, 2026.

The trial is expected to enroll approximately 600 patients across more than 250 sites in 25 countries. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to receive 400 mg once daily rinzimetostat in combination with darolutamide, versus physician's choice of an androgen receptor inhibitor or docetaxel. The primary endpoint is radiographic progression-free survival, with overall survival as the key secondary endpoint.
