BTIG is maintaining a bullish view on a major Latin American e-commerce player despite a mix of recent developments that could weigh on near-term performance.

While acknowledging a more cautious view in the short run due to margin pressure and softening trends in Brazil, the broker reiterated its Buy rating and long-term (LT) bullish thesis on MercadoLibre (NASDAQ: MELI).

“We remain confident in the LT outlook,” BTIG’s Marvin Fong said in a Wednesday note, and emphasized that past disruptions—from Argentina’s 2023 devaluation to Amazon’s 2019 Brazil entry—were followed by strong share recoveries.
