Nofar USA lands BESS project on brownfield site with long term offtake.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nofar USA today announced it has transacted on a battery energy storage system (BESS) project with approximately 400 MWh of capacity. The project is in the process of signing a 15-year offtake agreement.

The project is sited on brownfield land, has secured a site plan approval, and has executed a grid interconnection agreement. Construction is expected to begin within the next 12 months with commercial operation planned by the end of 2028.

Nofar USA closes 1GW solar asset acquisition from Pine Gate Renewables

Nofar USA LLC, a subsidiary of Nofar Energy (TASE: NOFR), completed its acquisition of approximately 1 gigawatt of solar energy assets from Pine Gate Renewables LLC, according to a company statement.

The transaction closed following approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas on January 5, 2026. The acquired portfolio includes utility-scale solar projects across Texas, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina.

The assets comprise 650 MWdc currently in operation, 100 MWdc in advanced construction, and 225 MWdc in early construction stage. Hapoalim Bank provided $255 million in acquisition financing for the deal.
