Avoid these stocks given proposed U.S. IRA H2 tax credit changes: RBC

The proposed termination of the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) hydrogen production tax credits (45V) could weigh heavily on select green hydrogen names with significant U.S. exposure, RBC Capital Markets warned in a new note on Tuesday.

The change, included in a proposal from the House Ways and Means Committee, would phase out the 45V tax credits starting in 2026.

RBC analysts described the move as unexpected, noting that “a number of House Republicans had previously voiced their support for the IRA and Hydrogen PTC (45V) were not seen as the most vulnerable.”
