NEL ASA receives $7 million order for hydrogen equipment in US

Nel Hydrogen US, a subsidiary of Nel ASA (OSE: NEL), received a $7 million purchase order for PEM electrolyser equipment to be deployed at a public utility in the United States, according to a company statement.

The order comes from Douglas County Public Utility District in East Wenatchee, Washington. The equipment will produce hydrogen using excess power from the utility's hydroelectric project to help balance the grid while reducing mechanical wear on turbine units.

The containerized PEM equipment will have stacks manufactured at Nel's facility in Wallingford, Connecticut. The electrolysers are scheduled to become operational in the first half of 2027.
