Benchmark Reiterates Buy Rating on Lionsgate Studios Corp (LION)

Benchmark analyst Matt Harrigan reiterated a Buy rating and $17.00 price target on Lionsgate Studios Corp (NASDAQ: LION).

The analyst commented, "Lionsgate is reportedly evaluating inbound interest from London-based indie TV production leader Banijay Entertainment in concert with Canal Plus owner and French conglomerate Bollore Group. Lionsgate’s dominantly North American management and creative engines appear highly complementary to Banijay’s current Eurocentric structure. This is as European companies are looking to increase scale and IP catalogs to remain relevant in competition with global streamers. Investing.com -- Lionsgate Studios shares traded up to 10% higher in after-hours trading on Tuesday following reports that the company has received takeover interest from potential buyers.

The entertainment company, known for producing the "Hunger Games" and "John Wick" franchises, is exploring a sale and has attracted interest from France's Bollore Group, according to a Reuters report Tuesdat.

Lionsgate Studios, which has a market value of approximately $3.8 billion, has been working with an investment bank to evaluate inbound approaches, the report said.
