Lakewood-Amedex Biotherapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: LABT) announced that the first patient has been dosed in a Phase 2a clinical trial evaluating Nu-3, a topical antimicrobial gel, for the treatment of mildly infected diabetic foot ulcers.

The multicenter, single-blinded, dose-finding study will evaluate three concentrations of Nu-3 gel — 2%, 5%, and 10% — in adult patients with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. The trial is designed to assess safety and efficacy, including the drug's ability to reduce microbial burden and resolve infection. Topline data are expected in the first quarter of 2027.
