Morgan Stanley says this chip stock is a hidden 'structural play'

Morgan Stanley analyst Lee Simpson highlighted one chip name the bank believes is emerging as a “structural breakout story,” with the bank raising its price target on the stock to €54 from €45 and reiterating its Overweight rating.

Simpson said Infineon Technologies is benefiting from a powerful long-term growth driver tied to data-centre demand, arguing the market is underestimating the scale of the opportunity.

“We think the data centre story provides a structural growth driver for Infineon,” he wrote, adding that it now models data-centre-related sales growing at an 85% CAGR from FY25–28, reaching about €4.5 billion by FY28.
