Freedom Gold Corp. (CSE: FRDM), formerly SPOD Lithium Corp., has appointed John Shurko as Chief Executive Officer and director, effective immediately, according to a press release dated September 2, 2026.

Shurko is a mineral exploration executive with experience in projects across Atlantic Canada and the Yukon. Since 2016, he has been involved in exploration programs with an aggregate value exceeding $1.4 million, encompassing prospecting, soil geochemistry, diamond drilling, and geophysical surveys. He is also co-founder and President of 21Alpha Resources Inc. and has more than two decades of experience in the film and television industry as an Assistant Director.
