Chakana Copper Corp. (TSXV: PERU) has acquired full ownership of the La Joya project in Peru from Minera Barrick Peru S.A. through an agreement dated April 24, 2026. The acquisition involves the Libelula concessions, which Chakana had held under option from Barrick since July 2018.

Under the terms of the deal, Chakana will issue 4,130,312 common shares to Barrick, representing 8% of the company's issued and outstanding shares post-issuance. Barrick will also receive a 2% net smelter royalty over the concessions. The shares issued to Barrick will be subject to a 12-month contractual restriction on resale and a four-month-and-one-day hold period
