C1 Fund CEO defends NAV gap, says digital asset IPO pipeline most active in years

Investing.com -- C1 Fund, an exchange-listed closed-end fund focused on late-stage digital asset infrastructure companies, is pursuing a multi-pronged strategy to close the gap between its share price and net asset value, according to CEO Dr. Najam Kidwai, who told Investing.com in an interview that investor education and portfolio execution remain the fund's primary tools.

The company, which holds “eleven high-conviction positions,” believes the market is undervaluing its portfolio compared to its net asset value. Kidwai stated that in order to close the gap, it is “pursuing a multi-pronged approach to closing the discount.”

C1 Fund Inc. (NYSE: CFND), a publicly traded closed-end fund focused on late-stage pre-IPO digital asset companies, issued a shareholder letter outlining its first-half 2026 activity, including portfolio expansion, initial liquidity events, and the launch of a share repurchase program.

The Palo Alto-based fund deployed approximately $10.5 million in the first half of 2026, adding four new portfolio companies — BitGo, Fireblocks, Uphold, and Polymarket — and increasing existing positions in Ripple, ConsenSys, and Chainalysis. Total invested capital since inception reached approximately $41.4 million across eleven companies as of May 7, 2026.
