The analyst commented: "Biophytis announced on July 11 that the FDA granted IND approval to start the OBA Phase 2 clinical study of BIO101 in obese patients. The Phase 2 OBA study is planned as a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial in which 164 patients with BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2 or BMI ≥ 27 kg/m2 with one or more sequelae will receive 350 mg BID of BIO101 at the start of treatment with GLP-1 RAs in combination with a hypocaloric diet. The analyst commented: "Biophytis announced on June 20 that it has entered into an exclusive license agreement with Blanver, a pharmaceutical company in Brazil, for BIO101 in Latin America including, but not limited to Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. The deal, valued at up to €108 Million, will cover commercialization of BIO101 in Latin America across its various indications, with Blanver also being responsible for the registration and marketing of the asset.
