Simple Mining buys Sphere 3D's Iowa bitcoin mining site

Simple Mining, a Bitcoin mining hosting and infrastructure company based in Cedar Falls, Iowa, has acquired an approximately 8 MW Bitcoin mining facility in Iowa from Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ: ANY), according to a press release.

The facility supports approximately 2,200 latest-generation miners. The acquisition brings Simple Mining's Iowa platform to nearly 160 MW and more than 40,000 machines under management.

The site will operate under Simple Mining's existing model, with machine sales, hosting, and repair handled in-house. Customers at the acquired site will have access to the company's ASIC repair operation and support team.
