MHI Receives Contract for APM System at Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport

TOKYO, Aug 21, 2026 - (JCN Newswire) - - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has received an order for an automated people mover (APM) system(*1) for the first phase of the development plan for the new Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The contract from Dubai Aviation City Corporation (DACC), a Dubai government entity, was awarded to MHI as part of a three-company consortium with MHI Mobility Engineering Services L.L.C. (MHI-MESC), MHI's subsidiary in Dubai, and Indian multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T).

TOKYO, Aug 21, 2026 - (JCN Newswire) - - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Corporation (MHI-AC&R), a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, has developed N-Bleath,(*1) a compact brine chiller that uses nitrogen (N2), a natural refrigerant, and is capable of handling ultra-low temperature ranges. Sales are scheduled to begin in April 2027. Nitrogen is a natural refrigerant with an ozone depletion potential (ODP)(*2) and global warming potential (GWP)(*3) of zero, contributing to the protection of the ozone layer and curbing global warming.
