Mark Hurd
Mark Hurd was the Chairman/CEO/President of HP (NYSE: HPQ) until he abruptly resigned on August 6, 2010 after a scandal involving a sexual harassment claim from former HP contractor Jodie Fisher.
Hurd stepped into the CEO role at HP in 2005 after Carly Fiorina was forced out. He added the additional role of Chairman after Patricia Dunn resigned after a controversy surrounding pretexting, which involved investigators impersonating HP board members and nine journalists to gain private phone records.
Before joining HP, Hurd spent 25 years at NCR Corporation, last holding the CEO position.
Mr. Hurd was listed as one of Forbes' Market's Best Managers for 2009. In 2007, Mr. Hurd was named one of Fortune Magazine's 25 Most Powerful People in Business.
In 2010, Hurd joined became President of Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) and a member of its board of directors.
Hurd was born on January 1, 1957 and received a bachelor of business administration from Baylor University in 1979.
