Taser Int'l (TASR), Digital Ally (DGLY) on Watch Following On-Officer Camera Commentary from Sen. McCaskill

Digital Ally (Nasdaq: DGLY) and TASER Int'l (Nasdaq: TASR) are on watch Wednesday following more headlines promoting the use of small cameras by police officers.

USA Today notes commentary by Sen. Claire McCaskill on Tuesday, with the Senator saying no federal funds should be given to police departments unless cameras are put on officers.

McCaskill's proposal came in response to reporter questions during a visit to Custom Metalcraft in Springfield, Missouri. It gives the impression the police officer has overreacted when they haven't. If the police officer has a small body cam, then not only is the community reassured that's someone not being treated unfairly, it protects that police officer from being accused of treating someone unfairly ... I think that (body cams) would go a long way toward solving some of these problems and it would be a great legacy over this tragedy that's occurred in Ferguson, regardless of what the facts say at the end as to whether anyone is criminally culpable, the Senator stated.

Shares of TASER are up about 1 percent, while Digital Ally is seeing a pullback today following a $4 million convertible notes private placement, which was disclosed earlier.
