Vera Bradley, Inc. (VRA) Tops Q4 EPS by 2c; Issues Light FY15 Profit Outlook

March 19, 2014 8:03 AM
Vera Bradley, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRA) reported Q4 EPS of $0.48, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.46. Revenue for the quarter came in at $157.5 million versus the consensus estimate of $146.86 million.

Fourth quarter year-over-year net revenues in the Company's stores grew 14.5%. This growth reflected the opening of 19 full-price and four outlet stores during the past 12 months and was partially offset by a comparable-store sales decline of 10.2%. E-commerce revenues decreased 7.2% compared to the prior year. The decreases in comparable store and e-commerce sales were due to year-over-year declines in traffic, a lower average transaction size, and underperformance of the product offering. Severe winter weather also negatively affected store traffic during the quarter.

Sees Q1 2015 EPS of $0.11 - $0.13, versus the consensus of $0.22. Expects Q1 2015 revenue of $116 - $120 million, versus the consensus of $123.08 million.

Sees FY2014 EPS of $1.20 - $1.30, versus the consensus of $1.43. Also sees FY2014 revenue of $545 - $565 million, versus the consensus of $525.31 million.
