T-Mobile Might Not Overtake U.S. Larger Carriers...Yet (T) (VZ) (S)
In addition to debuting its 4G LTE network in seven markets, T-Mobile also announced plans to carry Apple's iPhone. Other devices that will run on T-Mobile's 4G network include the Samsung Galaxy S IV, BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) Z10, HTC One, T-Mobile Sonic 2.0 Mobile HotSpot LTE, and Samsung Galaxy Note II.
Following the failing of a deal between AT&T and T-Mobile in 2011, the two have been at ends. T-Mobile has made some solid moves since then, acquiring gobs of spectrum and streamlining its LTE roll-out plan. The company plans to have 200 million U.S. consumers covered by the end of 2013.
Deutsche Telekom is also close to sealing a deal which would merge MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) into T-Mobile USA, creating one of the top wireless carriers (er, 'un-carriers') in the U.S.
Others should watch out as T-Mobile's 4G network expands; at $70 per month for unlimited data, pricing significantly undercuts the likes of Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint (NYSE: S).
