NBC's 'Tonight Show' Could be Coming Back Home...
NBC's "Tonight Show" is going back to the Big Apple.
The NY Times is reporting Wednesday afternoon that the studio plans to bring the "Tonight Show" back to New York with current "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon expected to take over for Jay Leno.
Details still need to be hammered out, but the tentative plan is for the switch to happen in fall 2014.
With Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) fully acquiring rights to NBCUniversal as well as 1.3 million of studio space at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, there's little question where the show would take place.
"Tonight Show" was move to Burbank, CA, in 1972, when legendary host Johnny Carson was at the helm.
Comcast is up about 2 percent into the close.
