An argument could be made that a similar reaction came from the peanut gallery when whispers of an Apple tablet were circulating a few years back. Apple's job isn't to meet demand; Apple is out to create such an amazing product that you can't help but want one.
Further, will millions off folks using iTunes, iOS, and Mountain Lion already, should Apple make an appealing smart wristwatch, devices are more than likely going to fly off the shelf.
CNBC's Yahoo! Finance poll is far from scientific, but it might make some investors think a little bit harder about Apple's continued appeal.
Shares of Apple are up 1.2 percent Monday.
