Demand Still High for Apple (AAPL) iPad on Release of Cellular Version in China

January 18, 2013 7:41 AM
Despite Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) releasing the WiFi + cellular versions of its iPad 4 and iPad mini in China recently, it might not be able to fulfill iPad mini orders as quickly as it wants for the iPad mini.

That's because demand for the device remains exceptionally strong.

According to data out Friday, Apple's China Internet store shows a two-week wait on the iPad mini in both WiFi-only and cell models.

The iPad 4 Wi-Fi + cell version was listed with one to three working days for shipments, while Wi-Fi-only models were listed as being in stock.

TheNextWeb noted this morning that the U.S. version of the iPad mini has a one-week shipping time and the U.K. version is at two weeks.

Ahead of the bell, Apple shares are indicated higher Friday morning.
