Allscripts (MDRX) Tops Q3 EPS by 5c; Withdrawing Guidance; to Evaluate Alternatives

Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) reported Q3 EPS of $0.23, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $0.18. Revenue for the quarter came in at $360.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $372.35 million.

The company is withdrawing guidance.

CEO Glen Tullman continued, "We are confirming today that in light of the ongoing interest expressed in the Company by third parties, the Company is evaluating strategic alternatives. Regardless of the outcome of this process, Allscripts' primary focus is and will continue to be serving our clients through our industry-leading technology, services, and the support we provide to 1,500 hospitals and over 50,000 ambulatory physician practices and post-acute providers with whom we do business."

The Company further stated that there could be no assurance that this process will result in any specific transaction. The Company does not intend to comment further publicly with respect to the evaluation of strategic alternatives unless a specific transaction is approved by its Board. Citigroup is advising the Company.
