October 15, 2012 2:14 PM
Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX) stock is lower Monday after announcing Richard J. Poulton will become its new CFO earlier. Some suspect that the new exec will try to stem the possibility of a merger.

One firm taking a different stance is Baird. Amid the new appointment, Baird said the potential for Allscripts to be acquired hasn't changed. In fact, Baird thinks the addition my be a modest positive for Allscipts if the firm decides to remain independent.

Allscripts recently disclosed receiving first-round bids from the likes of Carlyle, Blackstone, and others.

Shares are down 0.3 percent in afternoon trading.
