Profound Medical strikes distribution deal with Cook Medical for TULSA-PRO
Profound Medical Corp. (NASDAQ: PROF) has entered into a supply and distribution agreement with the iMRI Division of Cook Medical to expand U.S. sales of its TULSA-PRO prostate ablation system, according to a company statement.
Under the agreement, Cook Medical will purchase TULSA-PRO systems from Profound at a predetermined transfer price for distribution in the United States through Cook's Copernicus program, which bundles the iMRI Suite with compatible devices, clinical training, and implementation support. Customers who acquire systems through Cook will obtain single-use disposables and service contracts directly from Profound, allowing the Toronto-based company to retain recurring revenue relationships.
Profound's existing direct sales team will continue selling TULSA-PRO to sites with compatible MRI systems, creating two parallel sales channels.
"This agreement broadens our commercial reach by making TULSA-PRO part of a comprehensive offering for hospitals investing in MRI-guided intervention," said Arun Menawat, Profound's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.

Pete Polverini, Vice President of the Interventional MRI Division at Cook Medical, said the Copernicus program helps hospitals plan, build, and sustain iMRI programs, and that TULSA-PRO adds an FDA-cleared prostate therapy option to that offering.
The Cook agreement is separate from Profound's existing co-sales and co-marketing arrangement with Siemens Healthineers, which pairs TULSA-PRO with the MAGNETOM Free.Max MRI scanner. Profound noted it is still seeking FDA 510(k) clearance for that specific combination, though TULSA-PRO is already cleared for use with multiple 1.5T and 3T MRI systems in the U.S.
Cook Medical and Siemens Healthineers unveiled the iMRI Suite at the Society of Interventional Radiology's 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting earlier this year.
