Resideo plans Q1 2027 update for Honeywell Home thermostats

October 22, 2026 4:13 PM

Resideo Technologies (NYSE: REZI) announced plans to release a software update in the first quarter of 2027 that will enable its Honeywell Home ElitePRO, X7S and X8S smart thermostats to support Apple's HomeView platform, according to a company press release dated Oct. 22, 2026.

The update is intended to add compatibility with two features introduced in Apple's HomeView: Adaptive Temperature Control and Clean Energy Guidance. Resideo said the update would not require homeowners to replace existing devices or schedule additional professional installation.

The ElitePRO, X7S and X8S thermostats currently support several smart home ecosystems, including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Home Assistant and Samsung SmartThings, and carry Matter certification. The devices include a touchscreen display of up to five inches, radar-based occupancy detection, support for multiple room sensors and indoor air quality devices, and Resideo's Redlink wireless technology.

Tom Surran, president and CEO of Resideo, said in a statement: "By bringing new Apple Home capabilities to thermostats already installed in homes, we are demonstrating how continued software innovation can enhance the value of our products while preserving the homeowner's original investment."

The Honeywell Home thermostat line received recognition from Popular Mechanics in its 2026 Home Innovation Awards and from ACHR News as a 2026 All-Star Residential Product of the Year.

Resideo said its product development is supported by relationships with more than 100,000 professionals worldwide, who conduct more than 15 million installations annually.
