Teradyne Robotics and Sereact partner on retail and logistics AI

October 21, 2026 8:28 AM

Teradyne Robotics, the division of Teradyne, Inc. (NASDAQ: TER) that operates Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots, has announced a partnership with Sereact, a physical AI software company, to deploy automated solutions in retail, logistics, and manufacturing.

Under the partnership, Sereact's physical AI platform, Cortex, runs on Universal Robots robot arms to automate tasks such as returns handling, piece-picking, store replenishment, and sortation. According to a press release, the companies have already shipped hundreds of Universal Robots units in dual-arm systems to live customer sites across Europe.

One active deployment involves Zalando's fulfillment centers in Greven, Germany, and Świebodzin, Poland, where the robots autonomously process returned fashion items. The work is done in collaboration with CEVA Logistics. The companies describe this as the first phase of a broader effort to scale returns automation across Europe.

Sereact opened a U.S. headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, to extend the joint solution to North American customers.

The companies are demonstrating the partnership at the Nvidia GTC Berlin 2026 conference, where Cortex runs on two Universal Robots UR12e-1300 arms to replicate a returns handling application already in use at live logistics sites.

Cortex is trained using Nvidia Isaac Sim and Nvidia Cosmos, post-trained with reinforcement learning via the Nvidia Isaac Lab framework, and runs on Nvidia Jetson Thor hardware at deployment sites. Teradyne Robotics is also contributing robot simulation assets to the SimReady Central Library on Hugging Face.

Sereact, founded in Stuttgart by Dr. Ralf Gulde and Marc Tuscher, raised a $116 million Series B in 2026. Its customers include Zalando, IKEA, DHL, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Daimler Truck. Teradyne Robotics is headquartered in Odense, Denmark.
