Extreme Networks reports early usage data for its Agent ONE AI tool
Extreme Networks (NASDAQ: EXTR) reported early usage figures for its Extreme Agent ONE Coworker, an AI agent built into the company's Extreme Platform ONE networking platform, according to a company statement.
In the first month of general availability, customers collectively saved an estimated 1,000 hours of troubleshooting time. The company said 41% of Extreme Platform ONE customers used Agent ONE for daily tasks, and users responded to 98% of critical automated alerts, which the company calls "nudges." Additionally, 58% of support cases opened through Agent ONE arrived with sufficient diagnostic information for the support team to begin resolving the issue immediately.
Extreme Networks said engagement with Agent ONE Coworker was approximately 10 times that of its first-generation conversational AI product. The company also said Agent ONE helped customers resolve issues in minutes, compared to what it described as an industry average of two days, though the source of that industry figure was not specified.
The tool operates by continuously monitoring live network data and surfacing recommendations within a user's workflow, rather than waiting for a user to submit a query.

Kevin Rocha, CIO at Hill College, said the platform helped his team resolve a wireless connectivity issue affecting campus operations in about 20 minutes, and also assisted in identifying a device on the guest network running cryptocurrency mining software.
Nabil Bukhari, CTO and President of AI Platforms at Extreme, said, "Conversational AI only helps when people already know what to ask. That's a design limitation, not a user problem."
Extreme Networks also announced a planned follow-on product, Extreme Agent ONE Operator mode, expected to be available in the first half of calendar year 2027. The company said that version will respond to network events and run scheduled tasks without requiring human direction.
