Nvidia expands Isaac robotics platform with humanoid and new tools

October 21, 2026 6:22 AM

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) announced an expansion of its Isaac open robotics development platform at GTC Berlin on Oct. 21, 2026, adding a reference humanoid robot, new datasets, a runtime framework and updates to its robot learning tools.

Agile Robots unveiled the Agile ONE SN, a humanoid reference platform built on Nvidia Isaac GR00T and powered by the Nvidia Jetson Thor edge AI platform. The robot stands 1.40 meters tall, weighs 40 kilograms and features 31 degrees of freedom with a 3-kilogram payload per arm. Each hand offers 20 degrees of freedom and 1kHz force control. Onboard compute delivers 2,070 FP4 teraflops and 128GB of unified memory. The platform has planned integration with the Nvidia Halos safety stack. Agile ONE SN is scheduled to be available in early 2027, with reported interest from Stanford University and ETH Zurich.

Nvidia also released Isaac Lab 3.0, now generally available as an open source robot learning framework supporting multi-GPU workflows and physics engines including Newton and Nvidia PhysX. A new Isaac OS runtime, built on Nvidia Holoscan, connects AI, sensors and robot hardware for real-time performance. Three open source reference workflows for Nvidia DGX Station were released, covering reinforcement learning for GR00T 1.7 models, dexterous manipulation training and world model post-training using ChatGPT Astra.

The SimReady Central Library, available on Hugging Face, now includes more than 2,000 simulation-ready robotics and factory assets. A Human 1M Dataset featuring synchronized three-view video and 3D hand tracking is also available, with full access granted to Cosmos Coalition partners.

European robotics companies including ABB Robotics, KUKA, NEURA Robotics, Universal Robots, Hexagon Robotics and Sereact are using Nvidia's platform components. Toyota Material Handling Europe and SoftServe reported reducing autonomous solution deployment time by up to 50% using Nvidia Omniverse and Isaac Sim. Bellboy's robot, Billie, powered by Jetson and GR00T, has been deployed at hotels operated by Marriott, Hilton, IHG and OYO.
