Marriott Vacations Worldwide (VAC) Reiterated at Buy by Stifel on Strong Lodging Fundamentals
Stifel analyst Simon Yarmak reiterated a Buy rating on Marriott Vacations Worldwide (NYSE: VAC).
The analyst commented, "Lodging fundamentals remain quite strong following the bigticket events of Summer (+7.1% in 3Q26). Current pace is ahead of the pre-World Cup trends, and we are not seeing any slowing down. Last month, we highlighted the valuation disconnect and over the last few weeks shares have roared back on strong weekly industry results and investors putting more emphasis on the shorter duration lease sectors. The higher gas prices, inflation readings, and uninspiring consumer sentiment has not really impacted demand as evidenced by resilient TSA checkpoint volumes. The pressures are real, but evidently so are priorities. With the wealth effect still in play for the higher-end traveler as well as a robust corporate traveler, we believe lodging fundamentals will remain strong. Going forward we advise investors to be more selective in choosing lodging/timeshare names. Our top picks are: Marriott Vacations Worldwide (VAC, $110.11, Buy) and Wyndham Hotel & Resorts (WH, $76.19, Buy)."
