Garmin launches Edge 1060 cycling computer with voice control

October 20, 2026 7:02 AM

Garmin (NYSE: GRMN) announced the Edge 1060, a cycling computer featuring a built-in microphone and speaker that enables voice command control during rides. The device is available now at a suggested retail price of $799.99.

Activated with the phrase "Okay, Garmin," the voice control system allows cyclists to access performance data, request navigation, report road hazards, and send or receive messages through the Garmin Messenger app without removing their hands from the handlebars. A connected smartphone is required for messaging features, and voice control is available in select languages.

The Edge 1060 includes several navigation features, including route options with comparisons based on ride time and elevation, route previews showing distance and traffic conditions, road closure alerts sourced from other Garmin users, and a Free Flow Routing option designed to minimize stops and intersections.

On the training side, the device offers real-time stamina tracking, power guidance, and cycling ability metrics, all developed through the Garmin Human Performance Lab. Cyclists can access a personalized Garmin Cycling Coach plan or sync workouts from TrainingPeaks. The device also supports GroupRide detection, which automatically identifies nearby active group ride sessions and provides access to shared messaging and live location data.

Additional features include reverse charging via a compatible USB-C cable to power accessories such as Garmin's Varia lights or a connected phone, compatibility with Garmin smartwatches and the CIRQA Smart Band for off-bike health tracking, and a touchscreen display with physical buttons for use in wet conditions or while wearing gloves.

The Edge 1060 offers up to 20 hours of battery life under demanding conditions and up to 60 hours in battery saver mode.
