Garmin launches two new Edge Explore 3 GPS cycling computers
Garmin (NYSE: GRMN) has introduced two new GPS cycling computers, the Edge Explore 3 and Edge Explore 3 Plus, featuring touchscreen displays, navigation tools, and safety functions including incident detection and LiveTrack location sharing.
The Edge Explore 3 is priced at $399.99, while the Edge Explore 3 Plus carries a suggested retail price of $499.99. Both models are available now.
Both devices offer bike-specific maps, turn-by-turn directions, route options based on elevation and bike type, and road hazard alerts sourced from other Garmin users. Cyclists can also send a pin from Google Maps or Apple Maps to the device to receive a bike-specific route.
The Edge Explore 3 Plus adds a built-in speaker and microphone, enabling hands-free voice control for functions such as requesting routes, reporting road hazards, and sending voice messages through the Garmin Messenger app when paired with a compatible smartphone. The speaker can also function as a digital bike bell.

Both models are compatible with Garmin Cycling Coach, which provides personalized training plans that adapt based on performance and recovery data when used with a compatible Garmin smartwatch or heart rate monitor. The devices also support eBike systems from Bosch and Shimano.
Battery life is rated at up to 16 hours for the Edge Explore 3 and up to 14 hours for the Edge Explore 3 Plus under standard use, with both reaching up to 48 hours in battery saver mode.
"Whether setting out on a weekend ride, commuting across town or starting a fitness journey, cyclists of any skill level can depend on Edge Explore 3 to help guide every ride and support their goals," said Susan Lyman, Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing.
