Torex Gold adds ex-KPMG mining leader to its board of directors
Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX: TXG) (OTCQX: TORXF) has appointed Lee Hodgkinson to its board of directors, effective November 1, 2026, according to a company statement.
Hodgkinson brings more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and auditing in the mining industry. He served as leader of KPMG LLP's National Mining Practice in Canada for more than 20 years and as Global Mining Leader for 10 years. He currently serves on the board of Discovery Mining Ltd., where he chairs the Audit Committee.
Hodgkinson holds the Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D) from the Rotman School of Management, is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) and Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) in Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Analysis degree from Newcastle University.

The appointment follows the departure of Rodrigo Sandoval, who left the board after being named Chief Financial Officer of Fresnillo plc in September. With Hodgkinson's addition, the board will continue to consist of eight directors, seven of whom are independent.
Board Chair Rick Howes said Hodgkinson's background in financial reporting, corporate strategy, capital allocation, governance, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and sustainability would be valuable to the company.
Torex Gold is a Canadian mining company focused on gold, silver, and copper production from its Morelos Complex in Guerrero, Mexico.
