Arbe launches Gryphon radar system for unmanned ground vehicles

October 19, 2026 8:01 AM

Arbe Robotics Ltd. (Nasdaq: ARBE) has introduced the Gryphon Radar System, a 4D imaging radar designed for unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) operating in off-road and low-visibility conditions such as dust, fog, smoke, and rain.

The system uses 48 transmitting and 48 receiving channels to generate a dense 4D point cloud, enabling detection of obstacles including rocks, debris, vegetation, and negative obstacles such as ditches and holes. The radar also supports free-space mapping, odometry, and localization for navigation in environments where GPS satellite signals are unavailable.

Arbe said Gryphon is built on its automotive-grade radar architecture and features solid-state hardware with no moving parts. The company described the system as optimized for low size, weight, power, and cost, and said it supports extended data cable lengths for flexible sensor placement. The system is designed to scale across small and large vehicles and across varying levels of autonomy, from operator assistance to fully autonomous operation.

"For Arbe, this opens a significant new market, where the capabilities of our ultra-high-resolution radar are particularly well suited to the challenges these vehicles face," said Ram Machness, CEO of Arbe.

According to a projection cited by the company from Grand View Research, the global UGV market is expected to reach $7.7 billion by 2033, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 10%, driven by adoption in defense, logistics, mining, agriculture, and industrial sectors.

Arbe, headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, also operates offices in the United States, Germany, and China.
