AstraZeneca to present data from four Phase III trials at ESMO 2026
AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN) announced it will present data from more than 100 abstracts at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress, scheduled for October 23-27, 2026, including results from five pivotal Phase III trials, four of which will be featured in Presidential Symposia.
Among the highlights, the CLARITY-Gastric01 trial will present overall survival data for sonesitatug vedotin, a Claudin-18.2-targeting antibody drug conjugate, in patients with second-line or later CLDN18.2-positive advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancers. According to the press release, this is the first Phase III trial to show a statistically significant overall survival benefit with an anti-CLDN18.2 antibody drug conjugate in this setting. Approximately 60% of patients in this setting have CLDN18.2 expression at or above the 25% threshold used in the trial.
The SAFFRON trial will present Phase III results for osimertinib plus savolitinib versus platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with MET-driven, EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer who progressed on prior osimertinib treatment.

Two additional Presidential Symposium presentations will cover the DeLLphi-305 trial, an Amgen-led Phase III study of durvalumab plus tarlatamab as first-line maintenance therapy in extensive-stage small cell lung cancer, and the VOLGA trial, examining perioperative durvalumab combined with neoadjuvant enfortumab vedotin in muscle-invasive bladder cancer patients ineligible for cisplatin-based chemotherapy.
A fifth pivotal trial, SANOVO, a Hutchmed-led Phase III study of osimertinib plus savolitinib in treatment-naive patients with EGFR-mutated, MET-overexpressed non-small cell lung cancer in China, will be presented in a Proffered Paper session.
Additional data to be presented include results from the NeoCOAST-2 platform trial, the FONTANA Phase I/IIa trial of a folate receptor alpha-targeting antibody drug conjugate in ovarian cancer, and updated Phase I results for C-CAR031, a CAR-T therapy in hepatocellular carcinoma.
