Truist Financial Corporation (NYSE: TFC) announced several executive leadership appointments on Oct. 16, 2026, as the Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank restructures its consumer and small business banking operations.

D. Steve Boland will join Truist as vice chair. Boland previously served as chief administrative officer and president of Retail Banking at Bank of America before retiring in 2025.

Shimna Sameer, who was previously announced as the incoming head of Truist Wealth, will instead serve as chief consumer banking officer. Sameer spent more than 20 years at Bank of America in consumer banking, wealth management and private banking roles. With Sameer's role change, Jeff Dunn and Bryan Cram will serve as interim co-heads of Truist Wealth, reporting to Chief Wholesale Banking Officer Kristin Lesher.

Jeff Warner will join Truist as chief small business banking officer. Warner comes from PNC Financial Services Group, where he spent more than 25 years and most recently served as head of small business.

Boland, Sameer and Warner will each report to President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Lyons.

The appointments follow the departure of Dontá Wilson, who had served as Truist's chief consumer and small business banking officer.

Truist reported total assets of $554 billion as of Sept. 30, 2026.
