Akamai reports new cloud customers across AI, SaaS, and media sectors
Akamai Technologies (Nasdaq: AKAM) announced a new wave of customer additions for its cloud computing services, with software, digital media, and technology organizations expanding their use of Akamai Cloud infrastructure, according to a company statement.
Software and SaaS companies represented the largest share of new customers. Asia-Pacific, Japan, and EMEA regions accounted for most new customer additions internationally.
New customers include a North American technology company deploying Akamai's Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPU instances for AI model testing, and an Asia-Pacific logistics technology provider migrating AI-driven warehouse tracking and automation workloads to Akamai Cloud, replacing multiple legacy cloud providers.

A developer platform is migrating approximately 1,500 active microservices from a major hyperscaler to Akamai's Kubernetes Engine, citing cost and margin pressures. A European healthcare research institution is deploying Akamai Cloud for redundant storage and disaster recovery operations. A global media technology company selected Akamai's container and object storage services for media playout and processing workloads.
"Enterprises can no longer afford to treat cloud compute as a one-size-fits-all model," said Adam Karon, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of the Cloud Technology Group at Akamai. "That shift is why technology leaders are turning to Akamai for high-performance compute and GPU capacity where efficiency and scale matter most."
