Square launches AI-powered kiosk for restaurants at $1,999
Square, a unit of Block, Inc., has launched Square Kiosk, a self-service ordering device aimed at quick-service restaurants, priced at $1,999 with a $99 monthly software fee per device. The product requires a Square Plus subscription at $49 per location per month or a Square Premium plan at $149 per location per month.
The device features a 21.5-inch touchscreen and an AI-powered conversational voice layer designed to process customer orders, answer menu questions, and suggest add-ons. The kiosk also includes integrated payment processing, a barcode scanner, presence detection, and support for loyalty program check-ins.
According to a statement from Thomas Templeton, Block's Global Hardware Lead, "Square Kiosk adds a third piece to the solution: intelligence. For QSR operators, who often have to do more with less, conversational AI does what existing self-ordering solutions can't."

Alongside the kiosk hardware, Square is rolling out a multi-account management tool for franchise operators, allowing them to manage menus, reporting, and gift cards across multiple locations.
Square said the device is available immediately. The company noted that the stated price includes a counter stand, with total price varying depending on stand type selected.
