Illumina, Inc. (NASDAQ: ILMN) has launched the BioInsight Platform, which the company describes as its first unified software environment for genomic and multiomic data analysis, according to a company statement released Oct. 14, 2026.

The platform consolidates Illumina's analysis applications, AI tools, and curated data resources under a single sign-on. It includes DRAGEN v4.6, an updated version of the company's secondary analysis software that adds deployment options across supported cloud and standard CPU environments. Previous versions had more limited deployment flexibility.

The platform also features the BioInsight AI Lab, which applies multiomic data and AI for variant effect prediction and prioritization, and includes the newly announced SpliceAI2 model for rare disease research.

Illumina said the Global Parkinson's Genetics Program (GP2), a resource program of Aligning Science Across Parkinson's (ASAP) in partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, is currently using DRAGEN software mode to support approximately 170 active research projects on the genetic basis of Parkinson's disease.

"Software advances are crucial to help our researchers make sense of genetic data in a consistent, comprehensive, and scalable analysis environment," said Andrew Singleton from GP2.

The platform covers research areas including oncology, rare disease, population health, and multiomics. It incorporates existing Illumina products such as Emedgene, Connected Multiomics, BaseSpace, and BioInsight Data.

Illumina is replacing traditional annual subscriptions with a usage-based BioInsight Credits pricing model. The company said the BioInsight business unit was established one year ago.

Illumina plans to showcase the platform at the American Society for Human Genetics annual meeting in Montreal.
