Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), Toyota Systems Corporation, and Toyota Finance Corporation announced a joint project to transform IT service operations at Toyota Finance using agentic AI, according to a press release dated Oct. 14, 2026.

Kyndryl and Toyota Systems will apply the Kyndryl Agentic AI Framework to implement AI-driven workflows across Toyota Finance's enterprise IT operations. The initiative targets infrastructure design, change management, and impact analysis processes.

As part of the project, Kyndryl and Toyota Systems are developing an IT change management solution that deploys AI agents using customer-specific rules and knowledge, including IT environments, runbooks, and operational schedules, to identify inconsistencies and potential risks.

Toyota Finance will use the agentic AI system in its production environment. The companies said the initiative is expected to improve efficiency and standardize quality in review workflows, reduce decision-making time, and lower engineers' workload during impact analysis for system changes.

"By enabling the skilled engineers of Toyota Systems and Kyndryl to use technologies such as agentic AI, we can create a virtuous cycle in which people are able to shift their focus toward taking on new challenges and creating greater value," said Akira Umehara, Head of the IT Division at Toyota Finance.

Yoshinori Irisawa, President of Kyndryl Japan, said the company's infrastructure-first approach to deploying agentic AI is designed to support enterprise AI adoption at production scale while balancing scalability and security across mission-critical systems.

The three companies said they plan to expand the application of agentic AI across the entire IT infrastructure lifecycle to drive broader transformation of IT service processes.
