Gevo signs three-year carbon removal credit deal via CEEZER

October 14, 2026 8:13 AM

Gevo, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEVO) has entered a three-year agreement with carbon management platform CEEZER for the sale of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits generated at its North Dakota carbon capture and sequestration project, according to a press release issued Oct. 14, 2026.

Under the agreement, CEEZER will procure and manage a five-figure volume of tons of contracted CDRs through 2029 on behalf of a Fortune 500 enterprise software company that was not named in the announcement.

The CDR credits are generated at Gevo North Dakota, where biogenic carbon dioxide from ethanol production is captured and stored geologically more than a mile beneath the plant. Gevo states the storage permanence exceeds 1,000 years and requires no pipeline infrastructure.

Gevo has said it targets a carbon business exceeding $30 million in annual revenue from existing operations, and the company views this agreement as part of its expanding portfolio of contracted carbon removal credit sales. Previous customers for its CDR credits include Nasdaq and Whirlpool, with Amgen and PayPal listed on its registry through purchases from intermediaries.

"We expect increased sales to buyers seeking permanent carbon removal solutions backed by the rigorous measurement, reporting and verification standards Gevo provides," said Gevo Chief Carbon Officer Alex Clayton.

CEEZER Senior Vice President of Sourcing and Delivery Stephan Fuechtenhans noted that a site visit to Gevo's North Dakota facility confirmed supply chain traceability. "Long-term offtakes with suppliers that combine an operating project with a proven delivery record are becoming central to how companies meet their long-term climate goals," he said.

According to data cited from CDR.fyi, roughly 3% of approximately 50 million contracted tons across the broader CDR market has been delivered to date.
