Perpetuals plans to offer tokenized U.S. stocks via SEC exemption
Perpetuals.com Ltd (NASDAQ: PDC) announced plans to offer tokenized U.S. equities on its platform, citing the Securities and Exchange Commission's five-year Innovation Exemption framework for onchain trading of National Market System stocks.
The company filed a notice of its intent to rely on the SEC's temporary exemption for Tokenized Securities Venues. The move builds on Perpetuals's existing European tokenization platform and follows a previously announced agreement to tokenize more than $300 million in physical commodities.
Tokenized equities on the platform would allow 24/7 trading, near-instant settlement, and fractional ownership on blockchain infrastructure, with users retaining dividend and voting rights, according to the company.

"The Perpetuals team has long been trailblazers in tokenization, and this expansion into the U.S. allows us to further utilize our platform and deep expertise," said Patrick Gruhn, CEO of Perpetuals.
The company states its founding team created what it claims were the first regulatory-approved tokenized stocks in 2021, which enabled trading on platforms including Binance, FTX, and Bittrex. Perpetuals's technology currently operates through an EU-licensed Multilateral Trading Facility under MiFID II, MiCA, DORA, and EMIR compliance.
