J.B. Hunt Transport Services (JBHT) PT Lowered to $307 at Bernstein SocGen

October 14, 2026 7:51 AM

Bernstein SocGen Group analyst David Vernon lowered the price target on J.B. Hunt Transport Services (NASDAQ: JBHT) to $307.00 (from $329.00) while maintaining an Outperform rating.

The analyst commented: "Taking our 2027 estimate up on repricing opportunity; JBHT reports this Thursday after the market close. We are taking our estimates for 2027 higher as we expect the repricing opportunity to be better than what the street is baking in, and we like the risk / reward here (maintain O, lower target to $307). Market is too quick to de-rate the supply thesis. Spot leads contract, but it is not a futures contract and the post summer lull too short (and over) to derail the thesis. Rates below incentive price to add capacity. Market under-estimating intermodal pricing in 2027. Contracts start to reprice in the 4 th quarter, and will likely be more influenced by JBHT’s cost commentary than they will be informed by spot price action. Consensus seems to indicate mid to high single digit base rates ex fuel; we would underwrite lower doubles and are taking 2027 estimates up (FY27 +10% to the street / NTM+1 +14% to the street). Our new estimates and PT. Lowering 3/4Q on cost commentary, remain convinced market is not giving company enough credit for the durability of the intermodal pricing story over the next 12-18 months. Lowering price target to $307 — 24x our revised NTM+1 EPS estimate of $12.77. Stock can still de-rate a bit, but as pricing is going to peak in 2H27/1H28 history would tell you now is a good time to own JBHT."
