International Paper to spin off EMEA unit as DS Smith at London event
International Paper (NYSE: IP) announced that its EMEA Packaging Business leadership team will hold a Capital Markets Day in London on Nov. 3, 2026, from 13:00 to 17:00 GMT, according to a company press release.
The event will be hosted by Tim Nicholls and Vincent Bonnot, the designated future Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively, of DS Smith plc, the name planned for the independent company following a separation of International Paper's EMEA Packaging Business.
International Paper said the separation is expected to be executed through a spinoff, with the resulting company listed on the London Stock Exchange and a Level II ADR program listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

At the event, leadership will discuss the business model, growth strategy, and financial outlook for DS Smith plc following the separation. Other senior leaders from across the EMEA business will also participate.
The separation remains subject to customary conditions, including final approval by the International Paper Board of Directors, the filing and effectiveness of a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and publication of a prospectus approved by the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority. The company noted no assurance can be provided regarding the timing, structure, or completion of the proposed separation.
The Capital Markets Day will be available via webcast, with a recording to be posted on DS Smith's website following the event.
