Gates launches polyurethane conveyor belt for warehouse automation
Gates Industrial Corporation Ltd. (NYSE: GTES) has launched the IntraLogix LRB-100, a live roller belt for conveyor systems used in warehouse and distribution center operations, according to a company press release.
The LRB-100 uses a homogeneous polyurethane construction rather than the conventional fabric design, which Gates says eliminates V-guide delamination, a common cause of conveyor downtime. The product is now available in the United States, with international availability to follow.
According to Gates, internal testing against conventional belt designs showed the LRB-100 delivered more than five times longer belt life, approximately 75% less elongation, roughly 80% greater abrasion resistance, approximately 24% greater weld strength than belts used on accumulating roller pneumatic conveyance systems, and on average 73% lower drive tensions.

Mike Haen, vice president of global product line management and marketing at Gates, said: "With LRB-100, we tackled delamination, a common cause of conveyor downtime, with a belt built from a single material."
The LRB-100 joins the LRB-45 and LRB-77 in the Gates IntraLogix product portfolio. Gates is headquartered in Denver and sells products in more than 130 countries.
